Uttar Pradesh (UP) elections to be rescheduled on March 2012

Due to the uncertainty over the date of Barawafat festival, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad UP election first phase is rescheduled on March 3 2012....Polls will start on February 8 and ends on March 3rd...

Counting of votes will be done on March 6th..This change in counting date will be applicable to five states where election to be held... Because of Barawafat ,several political parties had requested the election commission to postpone the dates
